After hearing strange noises, the father walked into his daughter's bedroom and saw a naked Tajreed Rich standing over his daughter, who was naked on her bed.
The father, who has not been named, recognized Rich from the school and the family called police later that day.
Rich, who had counseled students at the high school about relationships and had previously helped coach a cheer leading squad at a different school, was fired by Robbinsdale Cooper on Monday.

He confirmed this to police, telling them they had sex once at his home and once at her house. Rich added that he did not use a condom on either occasion, according to Fox9.
A Robbinsdale Cooper High School statement said: 'This is a horrible incident, and the district finds acts such as this reprehensible. The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and our hearts go out to the family during this time.'Rich is being held in Hennepin County Jail on third-degree criminal sexual conduct and if convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine, CBS Minnesota said.
At a conference about the incident, County Attorney Mike Freeman said: '[It's] a tragedy for any father [who] comes home and finds his daughter in bed with another man'.
'He’s 41, she’s 17 ... He’s a hall monitor. I mean, the charge here is a position of authority. I think parents have a right to expect when their kids are at school that people employed at that school are not going to mess with their daughters, or sons, for that matter,' he told the StarTribune.
An American teacher at a top French school in Shanghai has reportedly been detained by authorities on suspicions of sexually assaulting at least seven students.
The alleged abuse by a male teacher at the Lycee Francais de Shanghai came to light after families filed formal accusations against him, claiming he raped and sexually abused children of both genders, the AFP reports.
The teacher was arrested last month, and Chinese police have launched an investigation.
"As parents we are devastated," one mother told AFP, declining to reveal her identity for privacy concerns.
A notice sent to parents referred to “sexual assaults,” but the school has not provided additional details.

A middle school teacher and coach was arrested after he met with an undercover agent in his Covina classroom allegedly with the intent to watch child pornography together, authorities announced Thursday.John David Boyle, 49, allegedly spoke online with an undercover agent who he believed shared his sexual interest in “young boys,” Thom Mrozek, spokesman for a U.S. Attorney in California, said in a news release.“Boyle set up an in-person meeting with the undercover agent in his classroom at the school on (June 2) believing that the purpose of the meeting was to engage in sexual activity while watching child pornography together,” Mrozek said.The undercover agent met Boyle in his classroom Sunday at Royal Oak Middle School, where he offered the teacher child pornography. When Boyle took possession of it, other agents entered the room.Boyle was not arrested at the time, but he did give investigators permission to take over several of his online accounts, including the email address JuniorHighCoach@yahoo.comThat email address, investigators said, was allegedly used to distribute child pornography. Investigators said they found evidence in Boyle’s Skype account that he may have made sexual contact with minors.
A search of Boyle’s computers uncovered videos depicting child pornography, Mrozek said.After combing through Boyle’s digital footprint from Sunday to Tuesday, authorities arrested the Covina educator Wednesday morning.
